Birth of The Minuteman
So to start, I want to explain how the Minuteman vehicle holster mount came to be. The reality is, I didn’t like the options already available on the market. I’ve already discussed at length what the Minuteman does and what it allows that other products don’t, so I’ll just cover the bullet points:
Allows for toolless installation; no drilling required in your car
Mounts in a comfortable yet accessible position
Lets you use a holster you trust and likely already own
I wanted something I could ride with for hours at a time and still be comfortable. Driving while concealed carrying can become uncomfortable over long periods regardless of how comfortable the holster is. That’s why having a secondary location to store the firearm is so helpful: it lets you drive comfortably so you can focus on the road instead of the pain points of prolonged seated carry.
With that in mind, a buddy and I got to work designing and prototyping the first iteration of the Minuteman (currently available in the shop). It lets you mount a Safariland QLS, allowing you to quickly attach and detach a compatible holster. I already have several other potential models of this system so that we can support more than just Safariland, so if you’re reading this and interested, please check out the shop and see what we have on the way.
